Hi everyone! Sorry that I haven't been around in ages (my last real deviation is from *gasps* February!). I spend more time on Tumblr now (you're welcome to follow me, and if you do, tell me who you are!). Even though I don't post here, though, I still check it every day, look for new R/Hr artwork to submit to my group and I'm also helping at InternationalFAQ (if your native language isn't English, you can find translations of the dA Help & FAQ!).You should also know that after a year of not writing fanfiction, I'm back

I'll probably post a one-shot here soon.
Anyway, I offered some humble prizes for the latest contest at Harry-potter-club and I'm sorry that it took me so long, but here goes the journal feature!

It's a Little Too Hard Harry walked down the road, trying hard not to think about everything. Everything was so difficult. The war was getting worse. He had to take a break from Hermione to think. All his fault. He couldn't take it anymore. As tears ran down his face, he ran, screaming, yelling, wanting nothing more than to diappear. Who else would be hurt? He finally collapsed on a park bench, gasping.

"Are... you ok?"

Harry looked up. There a girl stood with tears on her own cheeks; had he interrupted her own breakdown? He looked closer and noticed an oxygen tank at her side. Her short hair, skinny body made him think she was a lot younger than she looked.

"Hey? I'm sorry." The girl sat next to him. "I don't know. I saw you running up the street."

"Yeah. Yeah, so
Luna's Morning Luna peeped an eye open, hardly able to contain her excitement. Had they come? It was St. Patrick’s Day and although Luna was now 8, she still got excited about the mischievous, mysterious green men who would creep in and leave gold for hiding. Throwing her covers off, Luna jumped out of bed, noticing her pink nightgown had turned green overnight. In fact, her entire room had been redecorated in jade: her collection of pebbles were shades of emerald; her bed frame and sheets were a soft celadon; even Gurgle, her puffskein’s fur had morphed (which it didn’t look too pleased about).
Looking about her, she touched everything, inspecting every last piece of furniture,cloth, and room. Finally she ran to her bathroom, where she was delighted to see that the water from the faucets was even green. After getting herself made up for the morning as Must Be, Probably, Most Likely I held the tears in for as long as time allowed. That was only the school day. When I got home, I broke down, sobbing, wanting to know what I had done, what hadn't I done, what should I have done. Today was awful. I was shaking for most of it, trying hard not to cry, yelling at people, walking around with a scowl on my face. I had to put on fake smiles when I saw my boyfriend, tell him nothing was wrong, just something stupid. Poor kid.
What's wrong with me, you ask? Oh not much. I'm in high school so it must just be some stupid drama. I'm only a sophomore so it's probably nothing important or actually life changing. I'm only fifteen so it's most likely not really a big deal. Must be; probably; most likely. That's what runs through my senior friends' minds when they see me in a bad mood today. What's up with her? Who ticked her off now? Nothing much.
Usually they'd be right. It doesn't take much to set off my fuse. I'm very short tempered; my sister and I proved th <da:thumb id="336125962"/>

Goodbye, Alie

I think I've put this off for enough time already. I wanted to say something about Alie, for those who knew her and for those who didn't, and I think I know what I want to say.
For those who didn't know her, I'm talking about Whisperwings. She had problems with her liver for at least a year, I think, and last December she was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer. Last Monday, February 17, she passed away.
I was shocked when she first told us about her cancer; I've kept her in my daily thoughts ever since and I was devastated when I checked my Tumblr on Monday and read the message her family posted. I can't call myself one of Alie's best online friends, because I know there are a lot of other people who were closer to her and who must be feeling worse than I do. If you're one of them and you're reading this, I'm very sorry for your loss

What I do know is that Alie was one of the first people I met here on dA. She was one of the first people who joined Ron-x-Hermione, and who was always eager to offer whatever she could do to help me out with it: art for contests, points for a group upgrade, features, help managing it. And she did the same with any other group she was passionate about. She was a really cheerful, kind and lovely girl, and she will be sorely missed. I think I'm short of words here, but that's all I can manage for now.
If you want to read her final words, you can do so here. Her final words are, of course, sad, because they are indeed her final words, but in a way, they are also beautiful and comforting. Alie has been an inspiration, and I hope her story and her art can keep inspiring other people as well.

Today is Alie Day

:bademoticon: Hi everybody! I don't know if you've heard, but today is Alie Day. What is Alie Day, you ask? Well, it's a day dedicated to support and show a lot of love to Whisperwings (Alie), as well as to other liver cancer patients.

If you know nothing about it, I suggest you check out her blog, Timeless Whimsy, or this journal entry.

:bademoticon: So, to celebrate the Alie-awesomeness, gracelessnight came up with the idea of making this whole day... Alie Day! If you want to join us, you just have to wear a green shirt or top or dress, since green is the Liver Cancer Awareness Ribbon color, as well as one of Alie’s favorite colors. Then, take a picture, or many, of you in your green outfit, or surrounded by green things, and share your photos here, on Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, Instagram and any account you have! Tag it as #alie day, so Alie can look through the tag and see how loved and supported she is!

:bademoticon: If you like drawing or writing or crafting, you can also create something for Alie and submit it to whisper-gifts, a group created by Weasley-Detectives. It can be anything to shower her with love and let her know that she's had a huge impact on us.

:bademoticon: Lastly (but if you come up with other ideas, go ahead and share them!), you can post a journal featuring green artwork, which is what I'm about to do now! Oh, and also, you can change your avatar to the green picture you took, add a ribbon to your current avatar or just change it for a jade ribbon avatar

All I want for Christmas (or New Year...)

Hi everybody! How is your holiday season going? I hope you all had a great Christmas or whichever holiday you celebrate, or just a generally nice time if you don't celebrate anything. Mine was quite good. We spent it at my grandparents', about two and a half hour away from where we live, with my mom's side of the family. At midnight, my cousin shot several fireworks... they were nice, but I just hate them and the fact that they scare animals. The rest of us released balloons. And the next day we spent it on the swimming pool. You guys, it's so freaking hot here!! It's summer, all right, but we're literally frying in here! It's the kind of heat when you walk two steps and you feel dizzy and useless. Really awful.
Then last Friday it was my sister's prom. Here proms are for all the family, not just the kids, so we all went and thankfully, everything went great and it was really cool.

On the down side... My grandfather has a bladder surgery about a month ago that was supposed to be simple, but then it got complicated and he developed a pulmonary edema, so he spent a while in the intensive care unit. Then he was sent back home, but that very same night, he had to return to the hospital. He and my grandma spent Christmas there all alone, which was kind of sad (we visited on our way to my other grandparents'), and yesterday he was able to go back home again. I hope this time he won't have to go back. It was really scary, and they don't live near the city, plus they don't have a car anymore because my grandad can't drive much, so it's just too complicated and even more scary.
Also, I spend December and part of November preparing for a final, and I didn't pass. Now I have to re-take it in February, but I'm already scared Sniff

Another down thing is that my friends from uni and I have strayed from each other a lot... It makes me really sad because we've had great fun times and I thought we had so much in common. We get together and we act like it's all cool, but for me it isn't.
And to put a depressing cherry on top, it's been a year since my doggie passed away Tears

BUT on the bright side... I did have a nice Christmas and prom night. I went to my best friend's yesterday and we had a great time as always. For New Year's Eve and the next day we'll be at our grandparents' (the one who had surgery), so hopefully that'll cheer them up. And on the weekend, I might go see The Hobbit Part II with two of my cousins! After that, I might go back with them to stay at my grandparents' for a couple of days, since I won't go on vacation anywhere else this year. Then I plan to watch every movie I've posponed and read some more before February, when I'll have to study again.

Anyway, sorry for the rant. I'm not a fan of reading long rants but I can't help writing them myself Ashamed

The audience cheered with gay abandon – fireworks sparked from wands, wolf whistles and cat-calls rippled through the crowd. The commentator nodded reverently along with the audience, rousing them on with his right hand as the other held his wand to his face, using the Sonorus charm to amplify his voice. “Yes, I wonder who will be lucky tonight? Now, onto our next contestant, Miss Hermione Jean Granger!” The crowd went ballistic, poppers zinged and confetti was flicked onto the stage. Blushing, Hermione smiled bashfully, staring at her shoes. Voices that sounded curiously like Fred and George’s chanted “’Mione! ‘Mione! ‘Mione!” over the pops and bangs.

I could sense that it was earlier than when I usually departed, for in recent years I set off at a certain time so I could be there for the six o clock train, as it took me longer to get there now, for my sense of direction was waning, my eyesight not doing me justice. Life update and small feature

Hi everyone! I've been wanting to post a life update journal for a while now, but couldn't find the time. I figure now is as good as it can get, so...

My last term at uni was quite dull. I only had two classes left and neither interested me a lot. Thankfully, I passed one of those with flying colours, and for the other I have a group project to finish due in a couple of weeks. But guys! I'm done with all my classes!! For good! I still have my internship and my thesis left to graduate; hopefully I'll find an internship of my choice next year, while I take some extra classes (fuller resumé FTW!), then I want to get a job while I work on my thesis (and that's probably going to take at least two years--original thesis are hard).
Yay!

Lately I haven't been very active at dA, mainly because what I did the most was managed my Ron-x-Hermione group, and now there's not a lot to manage since it's not super active anymore :/ Also, I'm preparing for a final that is quite hard. AND I had a small surgery on my right eyelid to remove something for the third time, ugh. Hopefully it won't come back now, but I'll keep my fingers crossed!

I haven't been able to post my Photomanipulation Features for November, but I'll do my best to make a lenghty feature for December! Here's my latest manip, if you're interested:
